If you plan to buy an Anti-Virus, please visit the vendor's site and evaluate their software by downloading a trial version, as there are also many other features (e.g. firewall, HIPS, behaviorblocker, etc.) and important things (e.g. price, graphical user interface, compatibility, etc.) for an Anti-Virus that you should evaluate by yourself. Even if quite important, the data provided in the test reports on this site are just some aspects that you should consider when buying Anti-Virus software.

AV-comparatives.org tests mainly on behalf of the vendors, but also (very rarely) for third-parties (like magazines, etc.). Vendors interested in getting tested by AV-Comparatives can contact the management board by using the contact form. You can write in English, German or Italian language. Magazines can use the published results free of charge, as long as a source is given. In order to keep AV-Comparatives alive and independent (and provide our results free of charge to consumers), we charge since 2008 a fee for various services we provide, but it has no influence of any kind on results etc. AV-Comparatives is a Non-Profit-Organization.
