Scientists studying pathology know that DNA exchange between pathogens is a very real threat. An innocuous microbe with immunity to certain antibiotics might promiscuously share that immunity with a much more virulent microbe. It's a serious worry. Now researchers at Romanian antivirus giant Bitdefender suggest we may face a similar problem with different types of malware effectively "breeding" in the wild.
