I do a little light IT consulting and recently I went to a client to clean up a system on which he had installed a rogue anti-malware program. He had a copy of McAfee VirusScan installed—but it had expired many months ago, and who knows if it would have worked. These rogues have a lot of success resisting detection and removal.
