Throughout the year I keep a watchful eye on dozens of antivirus products, seeking new versions that need testing and evaluation. I peruse the independent lab tests and perform my own hands-on tests, challenging each product to clean up malware-infested test systems and to shield a clean test system from attack. Some do better at cleanup, others excel at blocking, while the very best handle both sides of the job with skill.
