PC Magazine: Widespread Improvement in Antivirus Test Results
Almost every antivirus product in the latest report from AV-Test Institute scored better than in the last report, or at least no worse. However, a couple were dropped from testing over ethical issues.

Researchers at German security testing lab AV-Test Institute spend their days putting antivirus tools through rigorous testing. Of course they rate how well each product protects against current malware threats; that's the main task of an antivirus, after all. But they also evaluate each product's impact on system performance, and note any usability problems caused when the antivirus erroneously flags valid programs or websites as malicious. In the latest report from AV-Test, almost all of the tested products scored better than in the previous test.
